Shortcuts What type of feedback are you reporting? Suggestion Details Is this a shortcut issue with Siri or the Shortcuts app? Shortcuts app What type of shortcut issue are you seeing? Editing a shortcut What is the iCloud link to your shortcut? Description Please describe the issue and what steps we can take to reproduce it The list data structure is difficult to use at its fullest, because many common list operations present in other programming environments are not present in Shortcuts. Example: the only possibility of sorting a list is sorting alphabetically via “Filter Files” (impossible to find by searching for “sort”, “order”, “classify” or anything similar). Also the sorting is limited to ASCII ordering (see linked shortcut for more details) Example: no normal user can numerically sort a list unless someone does a JavaScript add-on (see ) Example: same with randomizing a list (see ) Example: same with reversing a list (see ) Example: same with deduplicating a list (see ) Example: same with adding or removing an element from the list (see ) Example: same with finding an element in a list (or dictionary!) All these can be worked around with JavaScript and/or Repeat loops, but for the target audience of Shortcuts those represent a significant cognitive jump Messages Antonio Bueno (28/9/23, 18:12:34 CEST) Still needed (more than ever!) in 2023
